NAME: السجدة, As-Sajda.
Name taken from Verse 15 where there is a mention of word “Sajda”.
١٥ إِنَّمَا يُؤْمِنُ بِآيَاتِنَا الَّذِينَ إِذَا ذُكِّرُوا بِهَا خَرُّوا سُجَّدًا وَسَبَّحُوا بِحَمْدِ رَبِّهِمْ وَهُمْ لَا يَسْتَكْبِرُونَ ۩
15 Only those believe in Our verses who, when they are reminded by them, fall down in prostration and exalt [Allah] with praise of their Lord, and they are not arrogant.
But It does not mean that this name is the actual topic discussed in the whole Surah. It is just a reference and mark/symbol to distinguish this Surah from others as is with most other Surahs of Quran. While there are diversified topics discussed in these Surahs.

SURAH SAJDAH KEY VERSES:
٥ يُدَبِّرُ الْأَمْرَ مِنَ السَّمَاءِ إِلَى الْأَرْضِ ثُمَّ يَعْرُجُ إِلَيْهِ فِي يَوْمٍ كَانَ مِقْدَارُهُ أَلْفَ سَنَةٍ مِمَّا تَعُدُّونَ
5 He arranges [each] matter from the heaven to the earth; then it will ascend to Him in a Day, the extent of which is a thousand years of those which you count.
٨ ثُمَّ جَعَلَ نَسْلَهُ مِنْ سُلَالَةٍ مِنْ مَاءٍ مَهِينٍ
8 Then He made his posterity out of the extract of a liquid disdained.
٩ ثُمَّ سَوَّاهُ وَنَفَخَ فِيهِ مِنْ رُوحِهِ ۖ وَجَعَلَ لَكُمُ السَّمْعَ وَالْأَبْصَارَ وَالْأَفْئِدَةَ ۚ قَلِيلًا مَا تَشْكُرُونَ
9 Then He proportioned him and breathed into him from His [created] soul and made for you hearing and vision and hearts; little are you grateful.
١٣ وَلَوْ شِئْنَا لَآتَيْنَا كُلَّ نَفْسٍ هُدَاهَا وَلَٰكِنْ حَقَّ الْقَوْلُ مِنِّي لَأَمْلَأَنَّ جَهَنَّمَ مِنَ الْجِنَّةِ وَالنَّاسِ أَجْمَعِينَ
13 And if We had willed, We could have given every soul its guidance, but the word from Me will come into effect [that] “I will surely fill Hell with jinn and people all together.
١٧ فَلَا تَعْلَمُ نَفْسٌ مَا أُخْفِيَ لَهُمْ مِنْ قُرَّةِ أَعْيُنٍ جَزَاءً بِمَا كَانُوا يَعْمَلُونَ
17 And no soul knows what has been hidden for them of comfort for eyes as reward for what they used to do.
٢١ وَلَنُذِيقَنَّهُمْ مِنَ الْعَذَابِ الْأَدْنَىٰ دُونَ الْعَذَابِ الْأَكْبَرِ لَعَلَّهُمْ يَرْجِعُونَ
21 And we will surely let them taste the nearer punishment short of the greater punishment that perhaps they will repent.

SURAH SAJDAH BRIEF COMMENTARY & BACK GROUND:
This Surah has 30 verses divided into 3 Rukus/Sections. This Surah was revealed in Mecca during the early days of Prophethood. Like other Surahs revealed in Mecca, we find the emphasis on monotheism or the Oneness of God. The name comes from verse 15, in which there is mention of Sajdah “Prostration. This is one of 15 places in the Quran, where the believers and reciters of the Quran should bow down during recitation.
The central theme is to address three objections of disbelievers on issues which they used to quote openly and in their private regarding Muhammad’s preaching that he says about resurrection and heaven and hell than he says that God is the only Deity and lastly that he says that which I recites is not my own but God’s Word. This Surah invites people to think about themselves and on their surroundings. Everything pointing that there is a Powerful and Wise Creator for this whole Universe around and also consider that everything he created has a beginning and end.
The Messenger of Allah PBUH said: One who recites “ الٓمٓ • تَنزِيلُ Surah Sajdah” at night and Yasin, Surah Qamar and Mulk, there would be for him a light and a protection from Devil, and his position will rise till the Day of Judgment.
The Messenger of Allah PBUH said: One who recites Surah Sajdah and Surah Mulk it is as if he has stayed awake the night of Qadr.
Khalid bin Madan said, “Recite the Deliverer, which is الٓمٓ • تَنزِيلُ , “It will dispute on behalf of the person who recites it when he is in his grave saying, ‘O’ God, if I am part of your Book, please make me an intercessor for him. But if I am not a part of Quran your Book, blot me out of it.’ It will be like a bird setting its wing on him, it will intercede for him and will protect him from the torment in the grave.” He said the same about تَبَـٰرَكَ ٱلَّذِى i.e Surah Mulk.
